ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½

ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½participated in the 5th edition of the International Workshops on Public Policy (IWPP5), co-organized by the International Public Policy Association (IPPA) and Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, from 6-8 July 2026. Representing ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½was Executive Director Kim Fontaine-Skronski, who attended workshop sessions and held meetings with representatives of IPPA. During the event, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½and IPPA also renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), further strengthening the collaboration between the two organizations.

ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½Executive Committee (EC) member Luís de Sousa also attended the event and presented his research in the Integrity, Innovation and Historical Consciousness: Anti-Corruption Policy and Democratization in Global Perspective workshop. The workshop was chaired by Heike Grimm (Willy Brandt School of Public Policy, University of Erfurt).

The IWPP5 attracted over 400 participants from 58 countries and was held in a hybrid format, with 92 virtual attendees and 347 on-site participants. The event also featured 27 workshops.

IPSA-MoU Signing Ceremony
During the event, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½and IPPA signed a permanent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) renewing their long-standing partnership. The agreement was signed by Kim Fontaine-Skronski and IPPA President Marleen Brans in the presence of IPPA Secretary General Philippe Zittoun.

The MoU extends a bilateral agreement between the two associations that dates back to 2017, thereby allowing them to enhance their existing collaboration on several fronts. This renewed agreement allows ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½and IPPA to offer their respective members the option of joining the partner association’s membership roll. 

The close relationship between ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½and IPPA is further reinforced by the fact that IPPA Secretary General Philippe Zittoun also serves as Chair of IPSA's Research Committee on Public Policy and Administration (RC32).

Other Meetings 

During the International Workshops, Dr. Fontaine-Skronski also met with members of the IPPA Executive Committee and College, including IPPA President Marleen Brans (KU Leuven, Belgium), IPPA Treasurer Rosana Boullosa (University of Brasilia and Enap Brasilia, Brazil), IPPA Vice-President Oliver Meza (Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico) and IPPA College member José-Luis Méndez (El Colegio de México).
 

ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ IPPA
The International Public Policy Association is a non-profit organization created in December 2014 as a corollary to the successful 2013 International Conference on Public Policy (ICPP) organized by members of six ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½Research Committees and other entities associated with IPSA’s collective membership.

IPPA’s mission is to promote scientific research in the field of public policy and contribute to its international development. IPPA holds bi-annual public policy conferences that include panels, sessions and plenaries with academic participants worldwide.
