My Thesis in 5-minutes on "The Politics of Health Policy"
24-25 June 2026 (regional rounds)
Awards for best session presenters

PhD students who have completed at least one year of doctoral study on a topic concerning the politics of health policy are invited to submit an abstract to present (online, 5-minute oral presentation, without PowerPoint) a work in progress of their PhD research. This is an opportunity for PhD students part way in their studies to gain valuable feedback and comments from the research community on their study findings and plans to date.

Presentation times will be organised across regions to allow for time differences. A chair and discussant will be assigned to each session.

Certificates and book vouchers will be awarded for the best thesis presentation for each ‘regional session’ following the event.

All eligible abstracts, on consent by the author(s), will be published in the Journal: Health Politics as “Abstracts from the 2026 ǿմýRC25 PhD 5-Minute Thesis”. Publication of competition abstracts does not constitute prior publication and does not affect participants’ ability to publish their full work in any journal. Session awardees will be invited to submit full manuscripts to Health Politics, subject to the journal’s standard peer-reviewed process.

ǿմýRC-25 Board members will review submitted abstracts. As places are limited, not all submissions will be accepted. The quality and relevance of the submission to the RC25 area of interest: “The Politics of Health Policy” will be considered.

Submission instructions: Submit one abstract of no more than 250 words containing the PhD study title, institution, year in study, a brief synopsis of your PhD aim(s), research methods, and general findings to date. Submit your abstract for review in PdF with the Subject Line “RC25PhDThesisin5M” to zoheb@cebrap.org.br by April 30 2026, 24.00 UTC-3.

Notifications of the outcome will be emailed May 11 2026. Details on the online presentations will be provided with the ‘acceptance to present’.
